CASE STUDY - GOLD COAST QLD 2018 COMMONWEALTH GAMES

GOLD COAST QLD. 2018 COMMONWEALTH GAMES SUPPLY OF DRY AND FROZEN GEL ICE PACKS.

Challenge / Details:

• Provide approximately 60,000 gel ice packs within a short timeframe, for catering purposes to keep food and drinks cold for volunteers, staff, patrons and athletes during the Commonwealth Games.
• The gel ice packs had to be delivered in various quantities, both in an ambient state by dry transportation and pre frozen state by freezer transport to different sporting venues and catering facilities.
• Due to limited freezer and storage space at the delivery sites, the customer required the gel ice packs to be delivered on specific days and times whilst adhering to logistical and security requirements.

Solution:

• After consultation with the customer, we determined which gel ice pack would best suit their overall packaging requirements.
• The gel ice packs were delivered by both ambient and frozen transport to different locations within the Gold Coast vicinity, Queensland.

Results:

• Due to our vast network and partnerships with transport companies (Dry and Freezer) we successfully despatched and delivered the goods on the nominated date and times.
• The customer was grateful that we were able to adhere to the stringent timeframes, logistical and security requirements.
• Both the customer and the Commonwealth Games organising committee commended Thermal Ice on the seamless transition of a large amount of product to different sites in a short timeframe.
